Nursing Receives Dedicated Funding, Leverage AI to Boost Your Productivity and more

UNC Charlotte’s School of Nursing is among 12 UNC System public universities to receive dedicated funding to address North Carolina’s nursing workforce shortage. The recently distributed UNC System grants, funded by the North Carolina General Assembly as part of last year’s state budget, are designed to help public universities produce more nursing graduates.

  • South Village Deck and portions of CRI Deck will close for cleaning Tuesday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 4. Please review the parking deck closure details to ensure your vehicle is removed from affected areas.
  • Sharpen your skills by learning more about Zoom Phone, Zoom AI, Google Workspace and more. Register now for August OneIT training sessions.
  • Join the Office of Undergraduate Research for the Summer Research Symposium 2024 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, in the Popp Martin Student Union.   • Eligible faculty and staff can sign up for a 45-minute individual advisory session with CAPTRUST Financial Advisors, the independent advisory firm that works on the UNC Retirement Programs, Wednesday, Aug. 7, in Cone University Center, Room 110. The session can cover retirement and general financial planning, investment education and related advice.
  • Register now for the Graduate School fall mentor training. Based on the CIMER curriculum, this training fulfills the NSF mentor training requirement, and faculty who complete the training are featured on the mentor training webpage. Register early; sessions fill up quickly!
  • Reminder: Sign up for training opportunities to get familiar with and start using Concur for travel and expense management.
  • Volunteer to welcome our newest Niners during new student move-in days, Aug. 14, 16 and 17. Select the times you want and take part in the spirit tent or move-in crew.
  • Beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, fleet services will transition to a new management software, FASTER. You will be able to submit your vehicle’s preventive maintenance or repairs through the new FASTER customer portal, located in ARCHIBUS and FM311.
  • The American Athletic Conference has announced the men’s and women’s basketball league schedule pairings for the 2024-25 season.
