- Reminder: Please review this important update from Provost Jennifer Troyer and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kevin Bailey on the new policy, Equality Within the University of North Carolina.
- The virtual public presentation for the candidate for the associate vice chancellor for facilities management position will be held at 11:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12.
- Reminder: Register to attend University Convocation, Thursday, Aug. 15, in the Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. Light refreshments will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program at 10 a.m.
- Some employees received an email yesterday from AirPortal, Christopherson Business Travel, the booking travel company affiliated with Concur, the University’s new system for travel and expense management. This email was sent by error and should be disregarded at this time.
- Get ready for the new academic year with the Center for Teaching and Learning’s Innovate Your Teaching Workshop series, including sessions on generative AI, Canvas foundations, the latest Canvas tools and more! Register today for workshops offered from Aug. 12-30.
- Register for the “What’s New in WebFOCUS 9,” webinar scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16. Learn about the latest features and capabilities of WebFOCUS 9 including in-depth overviews of dashboards and portals, a showcase of new functionalities through live demonstrations and interactive Q&A sessions.
- Register for the faculty and staff Career Collaborative and be entered into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card.
- Benefits-eligible employees who are tobacco users can get a head start on open enrollment by attending a tobacco cessation counseling session to earn a lower premium for 2025.
- Call for nominations: 49er Alumni Campus Employee Awards honor the achievements of our 49er ACEs and the loyalty members have brought to our University. Nominate a deserving member by Sunday, Sept. 15.

Join the College of Science and the Carolina Raptor Center for the release of a red-tailed hawk at 9 a.m., Saturday Aug. 10, at the Hauser Alumni Pavilion. The CRC was founded in 1975 at Charlotte as part of the Biological Sciences Department. This event celebrates a center milestone — the release of its 10,000th rehabilitated bird where it all began nearly 50 years ago.
