- AI Update: AI is transforming Charlotte’s teaching, research and workplace landscape. Visit — and follow — the recently launched ai.charlotte.edu for information about the AI tools available and related projects underway on campus.
- Academic Affairs Positions: Applications are invited from the UNC Charlotte faculty for the positions of associate provost for academic space and programs and dean of the Graduate School.
- Human Resources Forms: In an effort to help employees, all human resources forms can now be found on a dedicated forms webpage. Search by keyword or filter by topic to find the form you need.
- Gambrell Faculty Fellows: The UNC Charlotte Urban Institute is accepting applications for its sixth Gambrell Faculty Fellows cohort, with support from The Gambrell Foundation.

- 49er Mart Reminder: 49er Mart users can attend a virtual forum from 2 to 4 p.m., today, Thursday, Aug. 22. Registration is encouraged on the Learning and Development Portal, and more information can be found on the 49er Mart message board.
- Movie Night: Charlotte Athletics will celebrate one week until kick off for the 2024 football season with movie night at Jerry Richardson Stadium starting at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24. The free event includes meet-and-greets, autographs and more with 49er student-athletes, followed by Disney-Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” on the big screen at 7:30 p.m.
- Crowdfunding: Learn more about crowdfunding opportunities available to students, faculty and staff this fall, by registering to attend a virtual training session at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26.
- CTL Workshops: The Center for Teaching and Learning is hosting teaching innovation workshops on various topics including AI and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Learn more and register for upcoming workshops. Also mark your calendar for a special celebration of the center’s 25th anniversary on Friday, Nov. 1.
- Funding Opportunity: Doing community-engaged research? urbanCORE invites you to register for an information session about internal funding opportunities to support community-engaged research and teaching from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Sycamore Hall, Room 306.
- Mental Health First Aid Training: Register for Mental Health First Aid training, a national program that teaches skills around how to respond to someone struggling with distress or suicide ideation. The in-person faculty and staff training is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, in the Popp Martin Student Union.
- Writing Group Opportunity: Early-career faculty are invited to join a six-week writing group, co-sponsored by the Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success, urbanCORE and the Writing Resources Center, to help develop a sustainable writing practice. The group will meet for six Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon, starting Sept. 6.
- Green Dot Training: The Center for Wellness Promotion is hosting a virtual Green Dot Training from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18. Learn to recognize, react and prevent sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. Registration is required through the Learning and Development Portal.
- OUR Research Program: The Office of Undergraduate Research is accepting submissions for faculty project descriptions for the spring 2025 OUR Academic Year Research Program.
