open enrollment is now underway

Open Enrollment begins today for all benefit-eligible employees at Charlotte, and will continue through Friday, Oct. 25. Please review the Open Enrollment webpage thoroughly to understand the changes for the 2025 plan year, the enrollment process and the benefit options available.

  • Message from the Chancellor: Chancellor Gaber shared a message this morning on Hurricane Helene and how we can help support those in need — both in our community and at our fellow System universities.
  • Academic Affairs Weekly News Digest: The Office of International Programs is accepting applications for its annual international education awards. Learn more about the awards, along with other important academic updates in this week’s digest.
  • Concur Transition Reminder: Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 1, employees must use Concur for all travel-related documentation. Learn more about this transition as well as Concur training.
  • Employee Calendars: The 2025 and 2026 employee holiday calendars are now available on the HR website.
  • Get Your Flu Shot: Fall brings the start of cold and flu season. Student health is helping limit the spread of illness by offering flu vaccines throughout October for students, faculty and staff. Sign up for your flu shot appointment.

  • CTL 25th Anniversary Party: Join the Center for Teaching and Learning for fun and refreshments from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, on the second floor of the newly renovated Kennedy Building to honor its 25th anniversary.
  • Reminder: The deadline to submit applications and nominations for scholarships to attend the Center for Creative Leadership’s Leadership Development Program is Monday, Oct. 7. Visit the HR website for more information.

  • Compliance Training: Help ensure completion of employee compliance training with the manager’s dashboard in the Learning and Development Portal.
  • Join the Community Innovation Incubator: urbanCORE is now recruiting for the Albemarle Rd./Central Ave. faculty team for the Community Innovation Incubator! Don’t miss out on an opportunity to collaborate with community members and peers to make local goals a reality.
  • Bond Rating Raised: UNC Charlotte’s bond rating was raised to AA- by S&P Global Ratings. This upgrade reflects Charlotte’s growing academic position, encouraging enrollment trends and healthy financial operations. Moody’s Investors Service also recently reaffirmed its Aa3 rating for the University, citing Charlotte’s solid brand in the region and strong operating support from the state of North Carolina.

  • Relationship Violence Awareness Month: October is dedicated to building awareness, promoting resources and creating a supportive community for students impacted by relationship violence and other forms of abuse. Learn more about all the events happening throughout the month.
  • Green Dot Training: Attend Green Dot Bystander Training from 3:30 to 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21, to learn how to use your social influence to reduce sexual assault, dating violence and stalking on our campus. Dinner and swag will be provided.
