Shannon Reid provided comments for ‘Latest school shooting has some parents asking ‘What are the signs?’

Reid, an associate professor of criminology and criminal justice, said early intervention is key.

“Parents and the families, they know these children the best,” Reid said. “They have to be the first line of sort of raising an alert if they feel like the child has changed behavior dramatically or is becoming more self-isolating or starting to talk about things that maybe they haven’t talked about before that would maybe hint at a change in their emotional well-being.”
