TWO NEW ACADEMIC LEADERS NAMED, PREPARING FOR WINTER WEATHER, 2025 INSURANCE ID CARDS AND MORE

New Leadership Named for UNC Charlotte Office of Academic Affairs and Graduate School
UNC Charlotte has named two new leaders to enhance the University’s academic community in the Office of Academic Affairs and the Graduate School.
- William “Bill” Tolone has been named dean of the Graduate School at UNC Charlotte.
- Michael Putman is joining the Office of Academic Affairs as the associate provost for academic programs and space.

- Be Winter Weather Ready: With a wintry mix in the forecast for the Charlotte region, here are some helpful tips from the facilities management team to help Niner Nation be weather ready.
- Insurance Cards: The 2025 State Health Plan ID cards sent around November 2024 included an error. Eligible employees should have received a corrected ID card in December or January. You also can request one online.
- Disbursement Policy Changes: Updated purchasing card policy and procedures and the 2025 IRS business standard mileage reimbursement rate are in effect. Review the changes and learn more about annually required cardholder training.
- Time Management Course: Register for “Mastering Time Management: Proven Techniques for Overcoming Procrastination and Prioritizing Tasks,” part of human resources’s new Unleash Your Niner Potential series for Charlotte employees, from 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Colvard Building, Room 5092.
