Winter weather readiness reminders from facilities management

A wintry mix is forecast for the Charlotte region; below are some helpful tips from the facilities management team to help Niner Nation be weather ready.

The facilities management grounds team, HRL staff and other FM personnel will work to ensure the removal and treatment of ice and snow on campus walks, roadways and building entrances. Pathways and entrances to food service areas will be addressed on a priority basis.

While campus walkways and roads may be treated, some areas — particularly on bridges and shaded surfaces — may experience icy patches.

  • Exercise caution when traveling on campus. Appropriate footwear, such as boots and/or hiking shoes are recommended during inclement weather conditions.
  • Avoid use of skateboards, bikes or similar items during inclement weather conditions.
  • Report any emergencies to the public and public safety dispatch at police 704-687-2200.
  • Monitor your local weather, and use good judgement when deciding to travel.
