Nominate a Colleague for Staff Employee of the Year

Every year, UNC Charlotte awards and recognizes exemplary employees for their hard work and dedication to the campus community and beyond. Nominations for the 2025 Staff Employee of the Year Awards are open through 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21. The categories include: Devotion to Duty, Community and Public Service, Innovation, Human Relations and Safety and Heroism.

  • Academic Affairs Weekly News Digest: Register for the Office of Legal Affairs’s training on the legal implications of the new presidential administration via Zoom, 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Feb. 5, and check out other important updates in this week’s news digest.
  • 2025 Excellence in Leadership Awards: Registration for the 2025 Excellence in Leadership Awards ends tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 28. The event is from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. Tickets are $50 and include a three-course meal.
  • Great Decisions Lecture Series Begins: The 2025 Great Decisions lecture series kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Charlotte Country Day School. Coordinated by the Office of International Programs, the hybrid events continue through Feb. 26, and registration is requested.
  • Adobe CC Reminder: Adobe will discontinue the Creative Cloud desktop synchronization service and the folder and file-sharing capabilities of synced files Monday, Feb. 3. Verify your Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application is at least version 6.4, or your local copies of synced files will be deleted.

Discover how to reach your full potential in the workplace through the “Unleash Your Niner Potential” workshop series. These in-person, interactive workshops, presented by UNC Charlotte’s human resources learning and organizational development team, will provide University employees with the tools for tackling some of today’s toughest workplace challenges.

  • Great Decisions Lecture on Climate: Register for “International Cooperation on Climate Change,” presented by Caitlin Schroering, assistant professor of global studies at UNC Charlotte, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29. The lecture is part of the 2025 Great Decisions lecture series.
  • Love Your Heart: Learn to use AEDs and administer CPR at the “Love Your Heart” event, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Cone University Center, Room 113. The event is hosted by the Environmental Health and Safety Office.
