Green Workplace Program Launches at Charlotte
The Office of Sustainability has launched the Green Workplace program, a performance improvement and recognition initiative to support campus units by addressing challenges, applying solutions and celebrating efforts to become more sustainable workplaces. Learn why your unit should register for this campus program.
What you need to know: faculty and staff
- AI Summit Proposals: Register for the 2025 Charlotte AI Summit for Smarter Learning and submit session proposals by Monday, March 10.
- Retirement Program Update: Effective Saturday, Feb. 1, employees who participate in certain retirement programs will see a reduction in the expense ratio of several trusts and mutual funds offered by Vanguard. Review this announcement for more information.
- Elimination of PD-7 Form: Effective Tuesday, April 1, human resources will no longer require the submission of a PD-7 form for EHRA non-faculty positions and/or employee actions.
- QPR Training Session: Question, Persuade, Refer is a suicide prevention training that teaches individuals to recognize the warning signs of suicide. The next virtual QPR training for faculty and staff is from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 13.

- Green Dot Training: The Center for Wellness Promotion is hosting a Green Dot Training from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, via Zoom. Attend the training to learn to recognize, react to and prevent interpersonal violence at UNC Charlotte.
- Meet Local Businesses: UNC Charlotte’s 2025 Small Business and HUB Expo is less than two weeks away. Attend the vendor fair from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at CHHS Plaza to meet local businesses that provide a variety of personal and business services.
- Anything That Rolls: Bring your micro mobility vehicle of choice (e.g., bike, skateboard, scooter, rollerblades) to a campus-wide ride that promotes movement, community and sustainability. Anything that Rolls, is from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, March 21, beginning at the UNC Charlotte main campus light rail station.
