Srijan Das, assistant professor of computer science, lives a world away from his elderly parents. A health incident involving his father inspired him to develop a groundbreaking, AI-powered large language vision model that can interpret mundane activities like taking medicine — better than big tech.

  • Attention Spring Graduates: Plan to attend the Commencement Kick-Off from 12 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, at Barnes and Noble Charlotte in Popp Martin Student Center. Grab your cap and gown, learn about resources for graduates and celebrate the beginning of the commencement season with free swag, food and door prizes.
  • Sports Analytics Info Session Today: Attend the virtual sports analytics information session from noon to 1 p.m., today, Thursday, March 27, to learn about the new bachelor’s program in the School of Data Science. Courses begin this fall.
  • Reminder About Summer Commencement: UNC Charlotte will hold a combined undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremony for all summer graduates at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9.
  • Revised University Policy: University Policy 411, Student Grievance Policy, has been revised to clarify the scope and applicability of the policy, and what types of grievances are appropriate for redress (and what types are covered by other policies and procedures).
