Charlotte Maternal Child Health Workgroup Set for Another Respectful Maternity Care Simulation

The Charlotte Maternal Child Health Workgroup, in partnership with First Team American and the School of Nursing, will bring the third Respectful Maternity Care Simulation to UNC Charlotte Friday, April 11, at the College of Health and Human Services, Nursing Simulation Space (third floor).
Registration is required as space is limited for this learning opportunity. Two sessions are scheduled; the first is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the second is 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Participants will role-play different real-life scenarios to create awareness to improve the maternal patient experience. The simulation is open to anyone with general interests in maternal child health. Students in the health and helping professions are encouraged to attend.
“Almost everyone knows someone who has been pregnant or will be in the future,” said Alicia Dahl, public health and health systems management honors program director. “We hope that by making this training accessible, more people will learn how to advocate for themselves, their loved ones and patients during this critical life stage.”
The simulation, run by First Team America, coincides with National Public Health Week (April 7-13) and Black Maternal Health Week (April 11-17).
