Charlotte dining, Goodie Bag forge groundbreaking partnership to reduce food waste

UNC Charlotte dining has announced a partnership with Goodie Bag to help students save money and reduce food waste.

Goodie Bag is an app that allows users to buy unsold food from shops and restaurants at a reduced price. Students who use the app can score leftover meals and snacks, packaged in “goodie bags,” from campus dining locations at one-half the normal retail price.

After downloading the Goodie Bag app, students should sign in with their UNC Charlotte  email and use code UNC5 to earn a $5 credit to use when the program launches Monday, April 21.

The Goodie Bag app first launched in Charlotte in February 2024 and partners with local spots like Oh My Soul, Poppy’s Bagels and Your Mom’s Donuts. UNC Charlotte will be the first campus in the country to use the app to help curb hunger and food waste.
