Summer Commencement scheduled for Aug. 9
UNC Charlotte’s first summer commencement ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9, in Dale F. Halton Arena. The ceremony will include all colleges and the Graduate School.
Important information for Gradutes
Caps and Gowns
- Caps and gowns can be picked up at Barnes and Noble Charlotte in the Popp Martin Student Union (Monday – Friday) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., starting Wednesday, July 2 through Friday, Aug. 1. Graduates will need to show their student ID (card or mobile) for verification. There is no cost for caps and gowns. Honor cords for Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude will be available for purchase.
- Graduates may place an online order for caps and gown from Monday, July 7 through Thursday, July 24. The link to order caps and gowns will be posted on the commencement website on Monday, July 7. Graduates will be charged a shipping fee.

Name Announcement
Graduates will use the “Tassel” website to record the pronunciation of their names. Graduates will receive an email on Tuesday, July 8, with further instructions.
Tickets
Graduates will receive ticket information, via email, on Wednesday, July 2.
Additional Information
- Graduates who need ADA accommodations can make requests through the “Tassel” website. Please direct any questions about ADA accommodations to the Office of Disability Services.
- Graduates will need a Charlotte ID or government-issued ID to join the commencement ceremony.
- Halton Arena has a clear bag policy. No umbrellas or balloons are allowed in the arena.
