Four Places to Cool Off on Campus this Summer
It’s going to be a long, hot summer in Charlotte, North Carolina, but luckily there are plenty of places on campus to beat the heat. Check out these spots where you can cool off and savor the quieter summer months.
Things to do in Charlotte (Students)
- U.S. National Whitewater Center: The Whitewater Center hosts a River Jam concert series Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights through Thursday, Sept. 25. The River Jam features bands that highlight Americana, roots and soul/R&B music.
- Carrigan Farms: Located 30 minutes outside of Charlotte, The Quarry at Carrigan Farms hosts open swim with food, fishing and more.
- Carowinds: Ride the roller coasters at Carowinds amusement park and visit the Carolina Harbor Waterpark.

More than 300 Niners are participating in a study abroad experience this summer across 24 countries, ranging from professor-led group programs to individual experiences.
