Dontá L. Wilson ’97 has been elected chair of UNC Charlotte’s Board of Trustees, effective Thursday, July 10. A recognized leader in business and civic life, Wilson’s appointment marks the continuation of his deep and enduring commitment to his alma mater.

Artworks by 14 College of Arts + Architecture students are on display at Bojangles new headquarters in southwest Charlotte. The students were provided a stipend from the company, and seven artists attended the “biscuit-cutting” ceremony to open the new headquarters Friday, June 25.

Bobbie Carlyle designed the statue “Self-Made Man” with the vision of a man carving himself out of stone, forging his character and future. Located outside Cato Hall, this recognizable sculpture reminds students to never give up on their personal growth. Check it out on campus this week.
