Be Part of the Solution: Participate in the Student Sustainability Summit
Explore and discuss alternative transportation options in the Charlotte region and on campus at the fall Student Sustainability Summit, from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 200.
The summit, sponsored by UNC Charlotte’s Office of Sustainability and the Student Government Association, will feature guest speakers from on and off-campus organizations and student groups. Summit participants will have the opportunity to network while working together to brainstorm ideas to make sustainable transportation work for them and their peers.
“It is important for students to become involved with sustainability initiatives on campus, including the Student Sustainability Summit, because such initiatives give us the opportunity to help shape our school environment,” said Avery Taylor, sustainability liaison for the Student Government Association and Levine Scholar.
Students and student organizations interested in attending the summit are encouraged to register in advance.
“The summit is a great opportunity for our students to share ideas on how they can work together to make our campus cleaner and healthier,” said Mike Lizotte, university sustainability officer.
The Student Sustainability Summit is possible through the support of the UNC Charlotte student green fund and is part of UNC Charlotte’s Campus Sustainability Month celebration.
