Giving Tuesday is Tomorrow

  • Light Rail During Commencement: The CATS Lynx Blue Line will be out of service Saturday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 14, for semi-annual maintenance. 
  • Name Change: The receiving and stores section of materials management in the Office of Financial Services has been rebranded as warehouse operations. The functions of warehouse operations include receiving packages, coordinating returns, warehousing supplies and managing the surplus property program.
  • Holiday Schedule: Don’t forget this year’s holiday leave schedule. The University will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 1.

A new Master of Science in Entrepreneurship, set to launch fall 2026, responds to a direct need in the Charlotte region. The only master’s degree of its kind offered by a public university in North Carolina, the program aims to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurial success.

Engineering Design Expo

The William States Lee College of Engineering Senior Design Expo takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, in Halton Arena. The expo — which is free to attend — features nearly 100 projects, prototypes and demonstrations worked on by more than 500 students over the last two semesters. 

  • Late Night Breakfast: Enjoy a free late-night meal before diving into finals! Bring your PJs, dance moves and appetite for Late Night Breakfast at 9 p.m., tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 2, at SoVi Dining Hall.
  • Ticket Special: Carolina Ascent FC is offering Charlotte students a holiday ticket special for two Saturday matches, Dec. 6, and Dec. 20.
  • Forever a Niner: All fall graduates and up to four guests are invited to celebrate their Charlotte journeys at Forever a Niner from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. Alumni communities, including the Black Alumni Chapter, Legacy Alumni Network, Latino/a Alumni Network, GOLD Alumni Network, LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network, Niner Varsity Club and First-Generation Niners, along with college deans, will be at the event to help celebrate all graduates.

  • Learning to Relax: Human resources is partnering with ComPsych Guidance Resources to offer a virtual workshop from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, to explore a variety of relaxation techniques to calm the body and mind. Please register in advance. 
  • Concur Trainings: Register for the upcoming Concur for Purchasing Card (non-travel) training at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, and Concur for Travelers virtual session at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, through the learning and development portal. Learn more about the new Concur travel experience.
