Nominate a Colleague for a 2026 Staff Employee of the Year Award
Human resources is accepting nominations for the 2026 Staff Employee of the Year Awards through 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6. Any permanent Charlotte employee can submit a nomination, and employees are encouraged to recommend colleagues for this honor in the categories of Devotion to Duty, Innovation, Human Relations, Community and Public Service, and Safety and Heroism.

LEADing What’s Next Certificate Program
UNC Charlotte’s LEADing What’s Next Certificate program is a cohort-based leadership development curriculum tailored for supervisors and managers. This program empowers participants to enhance their leadership effectiveness by developing skills in conflict management, delegation, accountability, employee well-being and other crucial areas, all within a collaborative peer-learning environment. Apply to join the spring 2026 cohort.

- 2026 ID Card Error: Some Aetna State Health Plan ID Cards for 2026 display an incorrect effective date of Jan. 1, 2025. Aetna is aware of the issue, and advises users to use the card as usual. There should not be a disruption in service due to this error.
- Emergency Loan Fund: Life can throw surprises, and UNC Charlotte is here to help. Interest-free loans up to $250 are available through the Emergency Loan Fund to cover unexpected expenses.
- Jamil Niner Student Pantry: Faculty and staff experiencing food insecurity are welcome to shop at the Jamil Niner Student Pantry from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesdays. Bring your employee ID and a reusable bag.
