University mourns death of Parking and Transportation’s Corey Mathis

Corey Mathis, administrative support specialist in parking and transportation, died Tuesday, March 10. A dedicated member of the business services team, Mathis served UNC Charlotte for 11 years.

His dependability as third shift communication center representative in PaTS was vital to maintaining operations during overnight hours, where he consistently supported the campus community with professionalism and care.

“Corey was known for his kindness, warm and welcoming demeanor,” said Rick Boucher, parking operations manager. “The genuine way he connected with those around him left a lasting impression on his colleagues. He will be deeply missed by PaTS and business services.”
