Campus improvements led by Facilities Management

Facilities Management completed a wide range of projects this summer to prepare campus for the 2026‑27 academic year, focusing on mobility, infrastructure, building upgrades and new construction.

Mobility and infrastructure upgrades

  • Road and lot repairs: Multiple roads and parking areas were resurfaced and improved.
  • Bike lane enhancements: Upgrades across campus support safer, more efficient cycling routes.
  • Sidewalk improvements: The Cameron Boulevard sidewalk near Central Deck, formerly known as West Deck, received upgrades, with re‑landscaping scheduled for fall.
  • Deck renaming: The CRI Deck is now Snyder Deck.
  • Mobility Master Plan: The plan was developed with Parking and Transportation Services to guide long‑term traffic, parking and multi‑modal transit strategies.

Building refreshes and renovations

  • Exterior cleaning: Several campus buildings received exterior cleaning and refresh work.
  • Hawthorn Residence Hall: Renovations were completed over the summer.
  • Witherspoon Residence Hall and Smith Hall: Renovations are currently in design.

New construction and major capital projects

  • Loy Witherspoon Meditation Center: Construction began this summer; the center is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
  • Jerry Richardson Stadium: Significant progress was made over the summer.
  • Graduate student housing: The University’s endowment‑owned apartment property adjacent to campus will serve graduate students.
  • Honeywell Innovation Hub: Construction continues on the building formerly known as Burson.
