UNC Charlotte students and researchers are expanding tick surveillance through field work and lab expertise to improve public health in Mecklenburg County. The long-term research project combines hands-on fieldwork and laboratory testing to provide data that could protect the health of residents and pets.

  • Student program changes: Academic departments should submit necessary student program change requests by Friday, Aug. 21, to guarantee financial aid eligibility.
  • Training session: Register for the next Office of Legal Affairs virtual training session, “External Relations and Partnerships Updates,” from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25, to learn how the University engages with policymakers, community partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Perceptive Content update: Perceptive Content is migrating to Softdocs Etrieve for financial-related documents, FTRs and SEAs. Sign-up for general financial forms training.
  • Google Cloud Search: Google Cloud Search acts as a personal search engine for your Charlotte Google account allowing you to quickly search through emails, docs, calendar events and drive files all at once.
  • Research town hall: Register for one of two 45-minute virtual town hall meetings, hosted by the Division of Research, to hear about recent organizational changes in the division, FY26 updates and participate in an open Q&A.

  • Tuition reminder: The fall 2026 payment due date is Tuesday, Aug. 25. Review available payment arrangements.
  • Become Norm the Niner: Current students can apply to try out — no previous mascot experience is required. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23.
  • SURG Small Grants program: The Office of Undergraduate Research is accepting student-authored proposals for the Scholarly Undergraduate Research Grant programApplications close Tuesday, Sept. 8.
  • Gearshop Guide: The 49er Gear Shop has released its 2026 fall edition of the Gearshop Guide, featuring 60 pages of Charlotte merchandise to get Niners ready for the semester.
  • Renovated alumni facilities: Planning an event this fall or spring? The newly renovated Harris Alumni Center and the Hauser Alumni Pavilion are accepting reservations. The state-of-the-art spaces are perfect for student events, workshops, celebrations and more.
