“This semester’s Student Sustainability Summit is about showing students that sustainability isn’t a separate path but a lens they can bring to any career. By connecting with leaders from across campus and the city of Charlotte, students can gain insight, mentorship and a clearer sense of how they can make a long‑term impact,” said Avery Taylor, sustainability liaison for the Student Government Association and Levine Scholar.
Students and student organizations interested in attending the summit are encouraged to register in advance.
“I want students to recognize that sustainability is not a separate career path. It is a mindset that can be applied in business, education, healthcare, engineering, public service, and so many other fields. I want them to take away a deeper sense of how their future work can contribute to a healthier and more sustainable globe,” said Erik Byker, event speaker.
The Student Sustainability Summit is supported by the Charlotte Green Initiative, the UNC Charlotte Student Green Fund, and is part of the University’s Campus Sustainability Month celebration.
