Rich Steele to depart Charlotte
Rich Steele, associate vice chancellor for facilities management, has announced his departure from UNC Charlotte effective Jan. 31. Steele has accepted the role of chief executive officer of the National Association of College Auxiliary Services.
Steele joined UNC Charlotte in 2019 as associate vice chancellor for business services and transitioned into facilities management in 2021. During his tenure, Steele led more than 400 employees in the Department of Facilities Management in planning, building, operating and maintaining the University’s buildings and land.
“Rich has been a great asset not only to the Division of Business Affairs but to the entire University,” said Rich Amon, vice chancellor for business affairs. “He has worked collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to make campus life better.”
A farewell drop-in reception for Steele will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 12, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center, Salons A and B.
The University has engaged the Korn Ferry search firm to assist in the recruitment process for the next associate vice chancellor for facilities management.
