2018 Staff Council Fall Festival was another fun time
The Staff Council’s annual Fall Festival provided opportunities for colleagues to socialize while enjoying a free lunch, contests and other activities.
More than 600 staff members attended this year’s festival, held during Fall Break on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life won the inaugural decorating contest by displaying “Niner Pride.”
Sarah Ekis, HR, won the baking contest, and Julia Geaney-Moore, Department of Languages and Culture Studies, won the talent/craft competition. Stephanie LaClair from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department claimed first prize in the photography contest, while Matt Shilling, University Recreation, and Tatiana Beregovski, ITS, placed second and third, respectively.
Celeste Corpening, chair of the Staff Council, called the festival another successful event. “Our Fall Festival is a fantastic way to demonstrate how much we appreciate everyone’s dedication to the University. There was dancing, a cake walk and caricaturists, not to mention a free lunch. I want to thank the many Staff Council volunteers who contributed to the event, and an even bigger thank you to everyone who attended and supported Classroom Central. We collected two large boxes of school supplies that will benefit students throughout the region.”
