Groundbreaking study reveals potential diagnostic marker for ms

Danillo Augusto, assistant professor of biology, co-authored a new study published in Nature Medicine that unveils a significant breakthrough in the understanding and early detection of multiple sclerosis.

  • Register for a presentation in Spanish regarding the NC 401(k) and NC 457 retirement plans from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m., Thursday, April 25.
  • This week is Swipe Out Hunger, a nationwide program that partners with colleges to help end student hunger and assist those who struggle with food insecurity. Donate your meal swipes at tables outside of SoVi and Social 704 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, to fight hunger on campus.

ATTEND AN UPCOMING EVENT

  • Party for the Planet is from 5 to 7:30 p.m., tonight, Monday, April 22, in Belk Plaza.
  • More than 80 local women- and minority-owned businesses have registered for UNC Charlotte’s inaugural HUB Expo from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, in the CHHS/CoEd quad. Food trucks will be on site with food for purchase and DJ Hugo will perform.
  • Join Atkins for a virtual showing of “Change the Subject: Language Matters,” a documentary about a group of college students who challenged anti-immigrant language used in Library of Congress subject headings, at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 25.
  • UNC Charlotte military-affiliated students, staff and faculty are invited to the Veteran Services Office’s annual Camo Classic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the CHHS/CoEd Plaza; this event features games, free food and veteran resources.
  • Airband, which showcases Greek organizations as they compete in eight-minute dance/acting skits planned and executed by competing chapters, will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 26, in Halton Arena. Admission is free and open to the entire campus community.

The Mobile Vet Center’s team of medical and mental health providers from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs recently met with patients on campus. They will return Friday, April 26, for the Camo Classic, hosted by UNC Charlotte’s Veteran Services Office.
