University Communications earns 10 awards in international competition
The Office of University Communications garnered a big dose of recognition in an awards program that attracts entrants from throughout corporate and nonprofit communications and the media.
The UComm team received 10 prizes in the Communicator Awards program, an annual competition that this year attracted more than 6,000 entries from top communications agencies, Fortune 500 companies and numerous nonprofits. Other higher education honorees included Harvard, MIT and Notre Dame.
The UComm winning entries were in various video categories, and several were components of broader, multimedia storytelling projects. The winners include:
- “Origins of Opportunity,” which won four awards for video editing, history, documentary and education institution video
- “Exponential Student Profile: Wyatt Shely,” which received awards for online video and education institution video
- “From Boxer to Banker,” which won awards for education institution video and nonprofit video
- “The Power of Family” (with Crystal Cruz), which received an award for education institution video
- “Walking in a VR Wonderland” (2018 Holiday Video), which won for event and commemoration video
“These honors help us to mark milestones of satisfying projects and to celebrate the teamwork that helps unite our University,” said Niles Sorensen, vice chancellor for the Division of University Advancement. “And they remind us that this is our role, in both the best of times and our toughest days.”
