Exum, beeTe named 2023 teaching excellence award winners
The Bank of America Award for Teaching Excellence and the UNC Charlotte Award for Teaching Excellence are two of the most prestigious traditions at Charlotte. This year’s recipients are Dr. M. Lyn Exum for the Bank of America award and Deborah Beete for the UNC Charlotte award.
FACULTY & STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Nominate a colleague or student for Phi Beta Delta and learn about other important updates in this week’s Academic Affairs Weekly News Digest.
- The Division of Research is monitoring the possibility of a federal government shutdown and planning so affected researchers experience minimal to no disruption.
- 49er Mart users are invited to attend a virtual forum Thursday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. Registration is encouraged on the Learning and Development Portal, and more information on topics to be discussed can be found on the 49er Mart message board.
- Remember to support the ASC or SECC this week.
- Last call to submit proposals for the Collaboration in Action: Engaged Scholarship and Student Impact Symposium. The deadline is Friday, Sept. 29.
- Make sure you understand the raffle policy at UNC Charlotte before you sell tickets.

- Study abroad applications are open for spring break 2024.
- Last call to submit proposals for the Collaboration in Action: Engaged Scholarship and Student Impact Symposium. The deadline to submit is Friday, Sept. 29.
- Emerging Leaders is a UNC Charlotte tradition started in 1980 that offers a select group of first-year, first-time students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, while making friends and having a great time. Applications close Saturday, Sept. 30.
- Students are invited to meet and talk with Berny Jacques and Geston Pierre before their event, “Political Frenemies Live!” tomorrow from 4 to 5 p.m. in Atkins Library’s Visualization Lab.
