Through targeted learning opportunities for faculty and students, UNC Charlotte, in many ways, is ahead of the curve in terms of AI literacy and accessibility. In fact, AI has the potential to take teaching and learning at Charlotte to a new level.

- Register for “Tackling Tough Conversations,” part of the virtual 2024 Webinar Series for Charlotte Employees, scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14.
- Need funding for your research on teaching and learning? Participate in the virtual workshop “Orientation to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Grants Program” scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15.
- University Site Managers: Your input is needed regarding the University-wide website redesign project by Thursday, Aug. 15.
- Two new courses have been added to the Concur training: “Concur Booking Tool for Travelers” and “Concur Booking Tool for Travel Arrangers.”
- Brand font update: UNC Charlotte has adopted Interstate font to replace Neusa Next in campus branding and design standards.

The capstone class of UNC Charlotte’s 10.5-month fast-track Master of Science in Management program, designed for people with non-business undergraduate degrees, wraps up students’ experiences in a distinctive way: They learn from immersive studies of real-world ethical dilemmas, guided by a world-class expert in global business ethics.

Student Announcements
- Start leveraging AI to boost your productivity! Microsoft Copilot with data protection (browser chat) is now available for students, faculty and staff.
- Some anonymous social media apps are now blocked on University devices and the campus network per a new UNC System Office regulation.
- Zoom AI Companion will be available to faculty, staff and students beginning Wednesday, Aug. 7. Zoom AI Companion is an AI-based digital assistant that integrates real-time capabilities and assistance to help users improve their productivity when using specific Zoom products.
- First-year and transfer legacy families are invited to attend the annual Family Weekend Legacy Lunch at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13; register by Friday, Sept. 6.

Preseason accolades continue to roll in for Charlotte defensive back Dontae Balfour, who, on Wednesday, July 30, was named to the watch list for the Jim Thorpe Award, which is given annually to the nation’s top defensive back.
