Support Student Crowdfunding Campaigns this Fall
This fall, more than a dozen student clubs and initiatives are seeking contributions to enable them to travel to national competitions, build incredible feats of engineering and more. Learn about their projects and how you can contribute.
what you need to know: Faculty and Staff
- Academic Affairs Weekly Digest: The Center for Teaching and Learning offers teaching guides to help prepare faculty for midterm assessments, reporting and feedback. Reference these guides, along with other important updates, in this week’s digest.
- Flu Clinic Thursday: Student health is offering flu vaccines for students, faculty and staff throughout October. The next flu clinic is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Sign up on the student health website.
- Niner Transit Interruption: All Blue Line and Gold Line service will be suspended from 2 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, through 4 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21, for preventive maintenance. Bus bridges will operate during the suspension, and normal service will resume at 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21.
- Hurricane Helene Guidance: Please review important leave and work provisions, along with open enrollment and benefit updates related to Hurricane Helene on the human resources website.

Staff Fall Fest: Staff Council’s annual Fall Festival is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Stop by to enjoy food, games and an opportunity to support the First Ward Creative Arts Academy.

- Niners Up for a People’s Choice Award: Two UNC Charlotte Klein College of Science students are nominated as team finalists in the Collegiate Inventors Competition, and for a People’s Choice Award. Please vote for “Color-Metric Sensing” once per day through 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct 16.
- Community Service Leave: State employees can now use their balance of community service leave to volunteer with their County Board of Elections as nonpartisan poll workers during this fall’s election.
- Workplace Community Giving Campaign: Make a gift to the Workplace Community Giving Campaign supporting the Arts and Science Council and the State Employees Combined Campaign this week. Stop by the table at the Staff Council Fall Festival tomorrow for more information.
