Charlotte Earns Sustainability Accolade

UNC Charlotte has made the Princeton Review’s 2025 Guide to Green Colleges, an annual publication that recognizes academic institutions that foster a culture of environmental responsibility and demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.

what you need to know: Faculty and Staff

  • Academic Affairs Weekly Digest: Learn about the Center for Teaching and Learning’s 25th anniversary celebration, scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, along with other important announcements in this week’s digest.
  • Football Game Day Parking: Please review important parking and transportation information for the Thursday, Oct. 31, home football game against Tulane.
  • Open Enrollment: For those eligible for the time extension due to Hurricane Helene, the final day to complete your Open Enrollment elections is Friday, Nov. 1.
  • Reminder: Mandatory Title IX and IT Security training for all University faculty and staff must be completed by Thursday, Oct. 31, and can be accessed through the learning and development portal.
  • Tuition and Fees Meetings: Hear recommendations for changes to tuition and mandatory student fees during the Tuition and Fees Advisory Board open meeting, 5 p.m., tomorrow, Oct. 29, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. A second meeting will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, in the Student Union, Room 340, and will include public comments.

  • Honors Research Symposium: The Honors College, in collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Research, will host the 2024 Honors Research Symposium from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Cone University Center. RSVP by Friday, Nov. 15. Please note student abstracts are due Thursday, Oct. 31.

  • Niners Vote Spirit Week: Enjoy fun activities, engage with fellow students and get all the information you need to cast your vote confidently during Niners Vote Spirit Week, Monday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Nov. 1.
  • Donut Forget to Vote: Stop by the Cone University Center, beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, to ask your questions about the early voting process. The event is sponsored by the 49er Democracy Experience.
  • Countdown to Commencement: The commencement kickoff for December graduates takes place at Barnes & Noble Charlotte from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30. Grab your cap and gown, learn about resources for graduates and celebrate with swag, food and door prizes.
  • Green Dot Training: Attend a Green Dot Bystander Training from 4:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, to learn to use your social influence to reduce sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. Dinner and swag will be provided.
  • Legacy Draping Ceremony: Graduating legacy students and families are invited to attend the Legacy Draping Ceremony at 7:45 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, in Popp Martin Student Union, Room 340. The deadline to RSVP is Dec. 6.
