UNC Charlotte’s Madison Riley, a junior biology major on the pre-med track, walked away with luggage and a trip to Key West on the Oct. 7 episode of “The Price is Right.” She shares what the experience was like.
What You Need to Know: Faculty and Staff
- 2025 Insurance Cards: All eligible employees, regardless of action taken during Open Enrollment, will receive a new Aetna ID card, which will include a new ID number. Members will need to begin using this card Jan. 1 for all medical and pharmacy services. The 2024 ID card will not work in 2025.
- Understanding Medical Plan Options: The North Carolina State Health Plan is hosting the webinar “Understanding Your Medical Plan Options When You Become Medicare-Eligible” at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10.
- Wellness Benefit: Participants of NCFlex accident and critical illness plans, administered by Voya, are eligible for a wellness benefit, payable once per year, per covered person for completing an eligible health screening test.
- Leadership North Carolina: Jodi B. Kaplan, associate vice chancellor for alumni engagement, has been named to the 2024-25 class of Leadership North Carolina, the state’s premier leadership deployment program.
- Faculty Staff Appreciation Day: Barnes & Noble in the Popp Martin Student Union is having its most festive sale of the year, today, Thursday, Dec. 5! Receive 30% off your purchase with the presentation of your 49er ID. Exclusions apply. Hot cider will be served beginning at 10 a.m. until the supply runs out.

- Submit your photo: We want to celebrate with you by sharing your success and accomplishments. Submit a photo of you in (or with) your cap and gown by Sunday, Dec. 8, and you could be featured in this year’s commencement pre-show.

Vicki (Doolittle) Fortney, associate director of community partnerships for urbanCORE, and Kevin Parsons, director of advising for the College of Computing and Informatics, volunteer every semester.
