Campus improvements led by facilities management
The facilities management team was hard at work during the summer, preparing campus for the 2025-26 academic year. Here is a look at some of the projects completed, including improvements to Craver Road to enhance the safety of the campus community. Additional projects noted below are expected to be completed throughout the fall semester.
Safety improvements to Craver Road
- “Yield to pedestrian” signs were placed at all of the unsignalized crosswalks on the road.
- New 15 MPH speed limit signs were installed.
- The intersection of Craver Road and Mary Alexander Road was updated to a three-way stop.
Other campus improvements
- The Belk Plaza fountain was refurbished; including replacing stonework and water functions.
- Asphalt repairs of roadways took place at North Deck, Craver Road, Cameron Boulevard and the Waddell Center for Student Health and Wellbeing.
- Ongoing construction to the Friday Building HVAC repairs included a helicopter hovering on campus to deliver necessary equipment.
Upcoming campus improvements
- Speed bumps will be placed throughout Craver Road.
- Permissive loading signs in front of Popp Martin Student Union will be changed to “no loading, parking, stopping or standing” signs and enforced as such.
- New markings of bike lanes across campus will be installed.
