Ventureprise to hold Idea Pitch 2019
Ventureprise in partnership with UNC Charlotte’s Student Organization, Global Business Brigades, will host Idea Pitch 2019 on Wednesday, April 3.
An opportunity for all UNC Charlotte students to showcase their business or research ideas, Idea Pitch will provide tools and resources to assist with proposed entrepreneurial ventures.
“Students who participate just need to bring their ideas,” said Ventureprise Assistant Director Laura Smailes.
Each student or team will have two and a half minutes to pitch an idea to three panelists. The pitch should include the problem identified, who is affected by the problem and the proposed solution. Ventureprise welcomes all student ideas, and the goal is to supply the finalists with mentoring and resources to begin their entrepreneurial journey.
Smailes stated, “We want to give students a platform to share their ideas on solving problems they see happening around them. At Ventureprise, we are able to provide students with resources to start a program or business venture.”
The three finalists selected at the April 3 Idea Pitch will receive three weeks of mentoring to prepare for the Final Student Pitch scheduled during Charlotte Venture Challenge on Tuesday, April 30, where they will compete for cash and other prizes.
The deadline to submit an application for Idea Pitch 2019 is 11:59 p.m., Friday, March 29.
Ventureprise will hold two information sessions. The first information session will be Tuesday, March 19, in Atkins Library, Room 124. Dinner will be provided. RSVP online. A second session is tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 25; details are forthcoming.
