Wilson, a professor of history, said, “You know, Charlotte’s always been kind of a go, go, go pro-business city where the impulses are to knock stuff down, build up new things.”

But not at Camp North End. The property’s past isn’t being replaced – it’s being revealed.

“This site is a really remarkable site in terms of Charlotte’s industrial history, even U.S. industrial history,” Wilson said.
