- Distinguished Research Award: The Division of Research is accepting nominations for the 2026 Charlotte’s Distinguished Research Award (formerly First Citizens Bank Scholars Medal), honoring senior, full-time faculty whose long-term scholarship and creative work have made significant contributions to the University. Nominations are due Friday, Feb. 13.
- Niner Research Outage: The Division of Research will conduct crucial web maintenance from midnight to 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17. During this period, Niner Research will be unavailable.

- Proposals on Media Literacy: The Atkins Library Critical Media Literacy Collaborative and the Niner Times are currently accepting undergraduate and graduate student proposals for their upcoming half-day media literacy conference Thursday, April 2.

- Thursday Trivia Results: The first installment of Niner Insider Trivia tested your ‘gold’ knowledge. Forty-two percent got all four questions correct. Question three was the biggest challenge; only 60% chose the correct James Bond movie “GoldenEye.”
- Nominate a Student: UNC Charlotte presents several awards to students during the annual University Honors and Awards Ceremony. These awards recognize students who have made significant contributions during their undergraduate or graduate careers. Submit a nomination by Friday, Jan. 23.
