Students Can Work Up to 40 Hours During the Summer
The Office of Human Resources has announced an important update to student employment. Beginning summer 2026, students will be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer, regardless of their summer course load. This policy update reflects Charlotte’s ongoing commitment to supporting students’ financial well being and offering more flexible pathways to success.
Eligibility for the 40-Hour Summer Work Option
- Students not enrolled in summer courses must have been enrolled in spring 2026 and be registered for fall 2026.
- Students working during both summer sessions who are not registered for fall 2026 must be enrolled in both summer sessions.
- Students enrolled in only one summer session and not registered for fall 2026 may work only during the session in which they are enrolled.
