Renovations, repairs and renewal: Summer construction at Charlotte

Summer is here and construction is underway across campus. From the Jerry Richardson Stadium expansion to a new dedicated meditation center, explore the ongoing and planned projects.

  • First in flight: On the heels of UNC Charlotte’s Aviation and Innovation Research Institute and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport partnership announcement, University and CLT representatives served as keynote speakers at the Transportation Research Board Symposium on Aviation Innovation and Research.
  • Partial Road Closure: Cameron Boulevard will be closed from the John Kirk Drive intersection to the entrance of Lot 6A for installation of a crosswalk speed table from around 6 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 24, weather permitting.
  • Eduroam update: The campus eduroam wireless certificate will be updated at 10 p.m., Wednesday, June 24. When connecting after the update, you may be prompted to accept the new certificate. If you experience any issues reconnecting, please “forget the network” on your device and log in again. See this article for more information.
  • Atkins Library closure: Atkins Library will be closed from Thursday, June 25, to Sunday, June 28, and Thursday, July 2, for construction-related work.
  • Ice Cream Bash: Join us on Wednesday, July 1, as we kick off the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with a Semiquincentennial Ice Cream Bash! Drop by the Barnhardt Student Activity Center Food Court anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. to enjoy ice cream, connect with colleagues and friends, and help us celebrate this historic occasion.
  • OneIT maintenance: Read about the extended maintenance work OneIT will complete Thursday, June 25, through Sunday, June 28.
  • Congratulations graduate Niners: Check out the 2026-27 UNC Charlotte Graduate School Fellowship recipients.
  • Softdocs migration update: OneIT is implementing a phased migration schedule from Perceptive Content to Softdocs starting in September. No action is required now.

  • 49er Mart users: Attend the 49er Mart virtual forum from 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, June 25. Registration is encouraged through the Learning and Development Portal, and additional information can be found on the 49er Mart message board.
  • Concur users: Attend the Concur User Group virtual forum from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 25. Registration is encouraged on the Learning and Development Portal.
  • Discover enjoyment with movement: Register for the upcoming OSHR Statewide Wellness Lunch and Learn Event, “Physical Activity: Discovering Enjoyment with Movement,” at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 14.
  • Attention prospective retirees: The 2026 “Understanding Your Medical Plan Options When You Become Medicare-Eligible” series is available online. The two-hour webinar is designed for employees 65 or older and will explain information regarding Medicare and retirement health benefit options.
