From the Albinator and an alumni-owned brisket dog to smoked gouda bites, there’s plenty to taste at Jerry Richardson Stadium this season.
Charlotte football is back at Jerry Richardson Stadium Saturday, Sept. 5, when the 49ers take on The Citadel — with a new lineup of game-day food giving Niner fans even more to look forward to this season.
Big flavors, alumni connections and options at nearly every price point are coming to the concourses. Think ribeye piled with provolone and crispy onions. An alumni-owned beef brisket hot dog. Smoked gouda mac and cheese bites with chili sauce. Barbacoa tacos. Jalapeño bacon. And even a lineup of $2.99 concession favorites.

Start with the Albinator
The Albinator features ribeye, provolone, roasted peppers and onions and crispy onion petals.
One of Charlotte football’s biggest bites is back for another season.
The Albinator, named for 49ers Head Coach Tim Albin, starts with ribeye and provolone, piles on roasted peppers and onions and finishes with crispy onion petals. The $12.50 basket puts a Charlotte football spin on the classic cheesesteak — and has quickly become a signature game-day favorite.
An alumni-owned dog comes home
The Gleezy Dog brings an alumni-owned beef brisket hot dog to Jerry Richardson Stadium this season.
There’s a Charlotte story behind one of this season’s new stadium additions.
The Gleezy Dog is an $8 beef brisket hot dog from Gleezy, co-founded by Belk College of Business alum Bryce Rech ’05, who has helped build the premium hot dog brand from a local startup into a growing business.
Now, Gleezy is coming back to where part of that story began — bringing its signature beef brisket dog and sauce to Jerry Richardson Stadium for Niner fans this fall.

Make a day of it with alumni
The food doesn't have to start when you enter the stadium.
Game day can start well before kickoff. Prior to each Charlotte home game, alumni, fans and friends can gather at the Hauser Alumni Pavilion for the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association's pregame tailgate. Tailgates begin 2½ hours before kickoff and include two hours of food, drinks, entertainment and Niner Nation traditions.
For the Sept. 5 home opener, the Alumni Tailgate runs 1–3 p.m., giving fans time to eat, celebrate and then head to Jerry Richardson Stadium for the game.
New food. And a stadium on the rise.
Fans enjoying this year's new menu will also have a front-row seat to something much bigger taking shape at Jerry Richardson Stadium.
Construction is underway on the stadium's next chapter, with an expanded 18,000+-seat stadium scheduled to open in spring 2027. The transformation will bring new suites, club spaces, lounge and ledge seating, patios and a terrace — along with enhanced fan amenities and a new grab-and-go market.
The 2026 season will continue at Jerry Richardson Stadium throughout construction, giving fans a chance to watch the future of Charlotte football take shape while being part of the action now.
