- Section 1286 update: To comply with updated federal research security requirements, UNC Charlotte is updating screening for faculty and staff candidates with research responsibilities. The effort is a collaboration among the Divisions of Research, Institutional Integrity and Academic Affairs.
- Remembering Jeanine Bachtel: The University is mourning Jeanine Bachtel, director of project management in Facilities Management. Bachtel died Saturday, Sept. 19.
- SHRA-to-EHRA conversion: The University will begin the next phase of SHRA-to- EHRA employee conversions in October and November. Recent updates from the UNC System expand eligibility for EHRA designation, and campus employees who qualify will receive detailed guidance and next steps on Friday, Oct. 2. - Game day giveback: Shop the Kendra Scott game day collection at Birkdale Village, Saturday, Oct. 3, with game day giveaways and a 20% giveback benefiting the Reed Parlier Memorial Foundation with code GIVEBACK-REED2026.
- Open enrollment: Join the Benefits Office, State Health Plan and NCFlex representatives for an informational webinar at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6. Review the benefit changes and updates for the 2027 Plan Year, and mark your calendars for open enrollment, which will occur Monday, Oct. 12, through Friday, Oct. 30.
- 49er Finish: The Office of Adult Students and Extended Services is now 49er Finish. This program helps students return to higher education, re-enroll at Charlotte and navigate the path toward completing their degree.
- Jamil Niner Student Pantry: Niner Nourish meal kits are now available at the pantry. Each box comes with ingredients and a recipe card for a nutritious meal that’s easy to cook at home. University employees should check the pantry’s operating hours before visiting.
- WTA Finals coming to Charlotte: The city of Charlotte will host the Women’s Tennis Association Finals at Spectrum Center for three years beginning in 2027. Economics professor Craig Depken shares what the major sporting event could mean for the city.
- Perceptive Content migration: Perceptive Content is being migrated to Softdocs to make campus workflows simpler, fully digital and more accessible. Phase 3, which focuses on employee-related documents and forms, starts at 9 a.m., Monday, Oct. 5, and continues through 11:59 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9.

The Jamil Niner Student Pantry is introducing RecRe lockers, a more efficient option for receiving resources. Located on the first floors of Atkins Library and Belk Gym, the lockers can be reserved by completing this form.
