December commencement ceremony schedule and cap-and-gown information

Commencement is one of UNC Charlotte’s most meaningful traditions, honoring the dedication of our graduates and the family, faculty and staff members who have championed their success.

The December commencement ceremonies will take place in Halton Arena, located in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center, on Friday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec. 12.

Friday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m.

Belk College of Business
College of Computing and Informatics
Cato College of Education
William States Lee College of Engineering

Friday, Dec. 11, 3 p.m.
Undergraduate ceremony for:
College of Arts + Architecture
College of Health and Human Services
College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences
Klein College of Science

Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 a.m.
The Graduate School ceremony for:
Doctoral, Master’s and Graduate Certificate candidates for all programs

Cap and gown information

Graduates can pick-up caps and gowns at Barnes & Noble Charlotte in the Popp Martin Student Union beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27. Graduates will need a student ID card or mobile ID for verification; there is no cost for caps and gowns. Honor cords for cum laude, magna cum laude and summa cum laude will be available for purchase.

Online cap and gown orders can be placed from Oct. 28-Nov. 15. The link will be posted Wednesday Oct. 28, on the commencement website; a shipping fee will be charged.

Faculty regalia rentals

Faculty participating in December commencement can rent regalia through Barnes & Noble Charlotte. Orders for gowns, caps, tams and other regalia must be placed by Friday, Oct. 23. Rental regalia will be available for pickup beginning Monday, Nov. 30, and should be returned to the bookstore by Wednesday, Dec. 16.
