UNC Charlotte is an official Ideas Pillar Sponsor for the upcoming Charlotte SHOUT! Festival. For 17 days this spring, Charlotte SHOUT! will invigorate Uptown delivering performances, installations, food trucks, interactive art and engaging conversations to plazas and venues in Center City.

Construction of new buildings is essential to UNC Charlotte’s rapid growth, but the long-term sustainability of the campus depends on the quality of those buildings. To guide high-performance design, the University’s Facilities Management Advisory Council adopted the goal of pursuing LEED Gold certification for all new construction and major renovation projects on campus larger than 20,000 square feet. 

UNC Charlotte has offered recycling services since 1990, and waste reduction efforts have increased. But the success of campus recycling services starts with  UNC Charlotte students, staff and faculty, and the Waste Wizard is here to help!

Beginning with the 2024-25 academic year, UNC Charlotte will move to a professional advisor model for all undergraduate students with the addition of 21 new positions. 

“Professional advising for undergraduate students is one significant lever in creating optimal conditions for academic success,” said Jennifer Troyer, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. “All undergraduate students will be assigned a professional advisor who will be fully dedicated to helping them complete their degrees in a timely manner.” 

The UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens annual Spring Plant Sale is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, April 12, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April13, in Parking Lot 5 off Martin Village Road.

Bertha Maxwell-Roddey, Ph.D., founding director of the University’s Africana Studies Department, died March 21 at the age of 93.

The economy is clicking along, and people should feel mostly optimistic about 2024, UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business experts told attendees at a Charlotte Business Journal Economic Outlook event held at The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City March 14.
