Triplett named UNC Charlotte Student Employee of the Year
Geography major Kenley Triplett ’20 is this year’s UNC Charlotte Student Employee of the Year. She was recognized for her work with the Cone University Center and the Popp Martin Student Union, where she had been employed since fall 2017.Initially, Triplett began as an information desk attendant in the Popp Martin Student Union; she was one of approximately 20 student employees who staff the Union Information Desk from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. The Information Desk interacts with an average of 12,000 visitors during the week.

Dear UNC Charlotte Community, As we announced on May 4, the University has made the decision to delay the start of the fall semester. Over the past several weeks, we have engaged in conversations with faculty, students, the UNC System office and local public health officials to finalize our academic schedule. While there are many views on the optimal plan for the fall semester, one thing remains consistent: the health and wellbeing of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority.

A look at Bob Johnson’s 20-year tenure as Lee College dean
Robert Johnson came to UNC Charlotte in 1994 as department chair for Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science in the William States Lee College of Engineering, after 17 years on the faculty at the University of Illinois. He assumed the deanship in 2000, succeeding Robert Snyder, who retired after 23 years at the helm of the college.
