This Valentine’s Day, the University Career Center wants to be a matchmaker – connecting UNC Charlotte students to careers they’ll love at the Spring Career & Internship Fair, scheduled for Feb. 13-14.
With 250-plus employers and thousands of jobs/internships, the career fair will offer what could be the equivalent of speed-dating for job seekers: Students can spend a few minutes with employers of interest to gauge their fit. Perhaps sparks will fly as students and organizations connect.
The career fair draws a diverse career “pool,” from large Fortune 100 companies to local nonprofits with positions such as data analysts, counselors, project managers, police officers, digital marketing analysts, managers-in-training, human resources interns and CIA intelligence analysts.
The event’s two-day format will allow students to target their career search based on their interests and skills. Students with a knack for all things technical/scientific are encouraged to attend Day One (Tuesday, Feb. 13), while those with non-technical interests will find a broad range of opportunities (including business, service and communications) on Day Two (Wednesday, Feb. 14).
Students are encouraged to prepare for the fair like a first date: dress well (suits), have something to say (know how to talk about individual strengths), and do some research (check out companies’ social media or websites).
The Spring Career & Internship Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 13-14, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
Students and alumni from UNC Charlotte and other colleges/universities are welcome to attend this event. Faculty and advisors may want to attend for employer networking and information gathering. The event is free for job seekers and faculty/staff. Based on employer request, professional dress will be required for everyone at this event.
