The entrances and exits that cross from East Deck 1 to East Deck 2 will be closed for construction beginning at 7 a.m., Friday, May 26, through 5 p.m., Friday, June 9. Expect lane closures, construction equipment and noise and dust as existing gate equipment is upgraded. Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to approach construction zones with caution.

UNC Charlotte welcomed the following new staff and faculty members during the May 16-17 New Employee Orientation session: Athletics Charles Skalaski, assistant football coach Atkins Library Marjorie Hoomes, university library technician Clifton Wilson Jr., facilities management technician for building trades

A section of Parking Lot 15 will be closed beginning at 6 a.m., Monday, May 22, through 6 p.m., Friday, June 23. Spaces closest to Craver Road will be unavailable due to work being performed on landscape, storm water and lot improvements. Expect construction vehicles and personnel in the area; utilize caution when approaching construction areas.

Normally, the Internal Audit Department includes five employees. Currently, there are three internal auditors in the department.

Construction crews working on the LYNX Blue Line Extension, the 9.3-mile extension to Charlotte’s current light rail system, have energized the overhead catenary system (OCS) throughout the entire alignment up to UNC Charlotte. The OCS provides electricity that powers light rail vehicles through a pantograph at the top of the vehicle.  The system carries 750 volts, direct current.&nbs

Faculty and staff members can try the fitness and recreation areas of Belk Gym for free from Monday, May 15, through Sunday, May 21. Employees should bring their UNC Charlotte IDs to present at the check-in location for this free preview.

To those outside the profession, internal auditors may appear to have their own way in which they work.

Thirteen faculty members whose combined service to the University totaled 357 years were honored at an annual event Wednesday, May 3, at the Harris Alumni Center. University leaders noted that each of the retirees had been active participants in the many changes and milestones in the life of the University.
