Seniors from the Lee College of Engineering will present their year-long senior projects at the college’s Senior Design Exposition scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, in the food court of Halton Arena in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
At this free, community event, 21 completed student projects will be displayed, along with the designs for 42 mid-semester projects. Some examples of completed projects include: solar cell phone charging hub, laser scanner with iPad control, chariots for disabled children, micro-scale wind turbine and a handheld magnetic dust brush.
The Lee College of Engineering Senior Design Program provides students with an innovative, hands-on learning experience, and at the same time supports industry partners and benefits the state of North Carolina. The program teaches students how to apply their years of math, science and engineering knowledge to solve the unique problems presented by a number of progressive North Carolina companies, entrepreneurs and citizens.
The William States Lee College of Engineering encourages multidisciplinary projects that involve engineering and technology solutions in the disciplines of mechanical, electrical, computer, systems, environmental and civil engineering.
