Monday, March 25, 2013

UNC Charlotte will celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 28, in the Student Union, Room 340.

This annual event includes historical and cultural information as well as a recognition ceremony to honor faculty, staff and students who have been nominated for their impact on the lives of women locally and globally.

International Women’s Day is recognized by the United Nations on March 8 and celebrated in various countries around the world. The UNC Charlotte campus community has celebrated IWD since 2006.

The Office of International Programs and the Multicultural Resource Center co-sponsor this event with support from Women’s and Gender Studies Program in College of Liberal Arts & Science and Women’s Programs in the Dean of Students Office. The reception and ceremony are open to the campus community.
