Nathaniel Hendren, assistant professor of economics at Harvard University, will discuss “Intergenerational Mobility and Equality of Opportunity in the United States” at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, in the College of Health and Human Services, Room 159.
Hendren’s talk is sponsored by the University’s Project Mosaic, a social science research initiative. The Harvard researcher is a member of the Equality of Opportunity Project, funded by the National Science Foundation, the Lab for Economic Applications and Policy at Harvard, the Center for Equitable Growth at Berkeley and the Arnold Foundation.
The goal of the Equality of Opportunity Project is to document and understand the patterns of intergenerational mobility and equality of opportunity in the United States, with the long-run aim of informing government policy on improving economic opportunity for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
