Belk College NEXT Speaker Series to focus on innovation, creativity
Jacob Goldenberg, co-author of “Inside the Box: A Proven System of Creativity for Breakthrough Results,” will discuss how individuals can learn and apply techniques for innovation and creativity – using the resources they have around them on Monday, Nov. 17, as part of the NEXT Speaker Series sponsored by the University’s Belk College of Business.
Goldenberg is a professor of marketing at the Arison School of Business Administration at the Interdisciplinary Center at Herzliya, Israel, and a visiting professor at the Columbia Business School. His research focuses on creativity, new product development, diffusion of innovation, complexity in market dynamics social networks effects and social media. He received his Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in a joint program of the School of Business Administration and the Racah Institute of Physics.
Goldenberg’s scientific work has been covered in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, BBC News, Herald Tribune, the Economist and Wired magazine. He also is a co-founder of SIT, a systematic innovation consulting firm.
The Nov. 17 NEXT lecture begins with a reception and networking opportunity at 5:30 p.m., followed by the public talk at 6:30 p.m. at UNC Charlotte Center City. Tickets, which include the presentation, reception and parking, are $25 each for general admission or $20 each for UNC Charlotte alumni. UNC Charlotte students, faculty and staff can attend for free with University ID. Registration to attend is online.
Earlier in the day, at 9:30 a.m., Goldenberg will deliver a presentation to the campus community in the Cone University Center, McKnight Hall.
