Campus presentations by director of University space management and utilization finalists
Chancellor Philip L. Dubois noted during this year’s Convocation that the University is recruiting a Director of University Space Management and Utilization, a new EPA position. The director will report to Phil Jones, associate vice chancellor for facilities, with a dotted-line report to the senior associate provost of academic affairs.
This person will oversee all aspects of UNC Charlotte’s integrated space management program to ensure campus space is utilized efficiently and effectively. He or she also will ensure space allocation meets the highest and best use in the context of institutional strategic priorities.
The position search committee has selected three finalists for on-campus interviews. As part of the process, each candidate will deliver a 15- to 20-minute presentation on “Integrated Space Management on a University Campus” followed by 10 minutes for questions and answers.
The presentations will be at 10 a.m., Dec. 12, 16 and 19, in the College of Health and Human Services Building, Room 155. These presentations are an opportunity for candidates to share their ideas on best practices in university space management and how these might be implemented at UNC Charlotte. Following the presentations, the search committee will seek feedback from attendees regarding the candidate’s message as it pertained to the subject matter. A brief survey form will be provided at each presentation.
