Crowdfund UNC Charlotte receives positive response from donors

UNC Charlotte’s use of crowdfunding for smaller campus ventures is achieving positive results.

To date, the Witherspoon Greek Alumni Scholarship is at nearly 80 percent of its goal, and the Niner Student Pantry has met its goal. Sheida Hosseinzadeh’s Memorial Scholarship exceeded its goal of $25,000 dollars and garnered support from local and international donors.

Faculty, staff and student teams with at least six members can submit Crowdfund project applications for spring 2016 through Wednesday, Nov. 25.

The Pride of Niner Nation Marching Band also is part of the Crowdfund UNC Charlotte initiatives.

Crowdfund UNC Charlotte allows University students to become leaders and fosters a philanthropic community across campus by providing an online platform that harnesses the power of the community through small gifts to help students, faculty and staff to raise money to fuel their passions, innovations and ideas.
